Tulsa Women’s Tennis to Host Purdue on Saturday

TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Golden Hurricane women's tennis team (9-5) welcomes the Purdue Boilermakers (5-4) to the indoor courts of the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Saturday, with first serve scheduled for 12 p.m. CT.
Purdue enters Saturday with a 5-4 overall mark, losing its last three matches. The Boilermakers are led in singles by No. 17 Silvia Ambrosio, while Tulsa leads the overall series 2-1 over Purdue, with the teams' last meeting in 2016.
For Tulsa, head coach Dean Orford's bunch tallies a 9-5 record in the dual season. Last weekend, the team concluded a three-week road swing, earning back-to-back sweeps over Montana and Montana State.
The Golden Hurricane is led by senior Martha Matoula in singles, who paces TU with a 9-2 overall record. Matoula is 4-0 at the No. 1 spot, while boasting a 5-2 mark at the No. 2 spot for Tulsa. Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner still remain one of the nation's best doubles tandems, sitting at No. 7 in the country with a 7-3 dual match record.
