Tulsa Women’s Basketball Team to Face Wichita State in The American First Round

The Tulsa women's basketball team will take on Wichita State in the First Round of the American Athletic Conference Championship on Friday, March 8 beginning at 5:00 pm Central at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn.

The No. 7 seed Golden Hurricane and the No. 10 seed Shockers will face off for the second time on the week, as the two teams met in the final regular season game of the season. WSU captured a 71-49 win in Wichita on March 4, while TU captured a 63-49 win in Tulsa on January 4.

Tulsa has a 3-4 mark in The American Championship play, earning wins in the First Round in 2016, 2017 and 2018, but fall in the quarterfinals the last four years. TU earned a bye in the First Round in 2015.

The winner of the Tulsa-Wichita State game will face No. 2 seed UCF on Saturday, March 9 beginning at 5:00 pm Central.
