Match Notes

TULSA,
Okla. – The University of Tulsa women's tennis squad (10-5) looks to nab its first ranked victory of the season, traveling to Norman for a match with No. 34 Oklahoma at 3 p.m. on Friday before hosting Bradley at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

The Sooners enter the weekend with an 8-3 overall mark, currently riding a three-match win streak. Oklahoma has two singles players and a doubles tandem nationally ranked, while Tulsa has defeated the Sooners in its previous two meetings in 2017 and 2018.

Friday's match will be broadcast on Fox Sports Oklahoma for Tulsa's first televised match of the season.

On Sunday, TU will play host to the Bradley Braves (8-4) inside the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The Braves own an 8-4 mark in the dual season and are coming off two-straight losses to Murray State and Southeast Missouri State.

For Tulsa, head coach Dean Orford's bunch tallies a 10-5 record in the dual season. Last weekend, the team returned to Tulsa to clinch a 5-2 win over Purdue, led by Martina Okalova's upset over No. 17 Silvia Ambrosio.

The Golden Hurricane is led by senior Martha Matoula in singles, who boasts a 10-2 mark in solo play. Matoula is 4-0 at the No. 1 spot, also boasting a 6-2 mark at the No. 2 position. Okalova is the lone TU athlete ranked in singles at No. 76, while Okalova and Vera Ploner still rank among the nation's best in doubles, slotted at 14th overall.
