
Tulsa to Tackle Havoc in the Heartland in Regular-Season Finale

WICHITA, Kan. – The Tulsa Golden Hurricane women's tennis team (14-8) heads to Kansas for a Havoc in the Heartland matchup with Wichita State (11-9) on Friday at 1 p.m. CT in the team's final regular-season match.
The Shockers enter Friday with a 11-9 mark and a 1-3 record against American Athletic Conference opponents. Wichita State is led in singles by No. 111 Fatima Bizhukova, and boasts a No. 30-ranked doubles tandem of Bizhukova and Marta Bellucco.
The teams met twice a season ago, once in the regular season and once in the conference tournament. Tulsa earned victories in both matchups, winning 7-0 in the regular season and claiming a 4-2 win in the conference semifinals.
For Tulsa, head coach Dean Orford's bunch tallies a 14-8 record in the dual season. Last weekend, the team honored lone senior Martha Matoula on Senior Day, claiming the team's ninth sweep of the season with a 7-0 blanking over Temple.
The Golden Hurricane is led by Matoula in singles, who paces TU with a 16-2 overall record. She is 4-0 at the No. 1 spot, while boasting a 12-2 mark at the No. 2 spot for Tulsa. Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner still remain one of the nation's best doubles tandems, sitting at No. 13 in the country with a 13-3 dual match record.
