PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Tulsa women's tennis senior Martha Matoula and junior Martina Okalova were named to the American Athletic All-Conference team, the conference has announced on Thursday.

With this year's two honorees, the Golden Hurricane has now put at least two selections to the all-conference squad in all five years since joining the American Athletic Conference in 2014.

Matoula paced the Golden Hurricane in singles victories on the season, earning a lofty 18-2 mark this spring. Matoula earned a 4-0 mark at the No. 1 spot to go along with a 14-2 record at the No. 2 position. The senior also notched two ranked wins in singles this season.

Matoula, being the lone senior this season, has left her mark in the TU all-time record book. Her 91 career doubles victories slots her in a tie for No. 3 in program history, as well as 82 career singles wins for a tie for ninth all-time.

Okalova led the way for TU at the No. 1 position, boasting a 11-8 record at the top spot for head coach Dean Orford's bunch. Including the fall, the Slovakia native picked up six wins over ranked opponents, highlighted by her victory over Purdue's No. 17 Silvia Ambrosio.

Okalova's season will continue, as she joins junior Vera Ploner for the NCAA Women's Doubles Championship on May 20-25 in Orlando, Florida. The 14th-ranked tandem will be the first TU doubles duo to compete in the NCAA doubles draw since Samantha Vickers and Isaura Enrique reached a program-high round of 16 in 2013.
