TULSA, Okla. -
The Tulsa men's tennis team will play its second straight top 10 opponent on Friday night, as the Golden Hurricane (5-1) host ninth-ranked Texas A&M in a 6 p.m. dual match at Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of TU.

TU is coming off its best start to a season in over a decade, as the Hurricane started the season 5-0. Last weekend, Tulsa competed in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, hosted by Ohio State. While in Columbus, Ohio, the No. 3-seeded Golden Hurricane upset No. 2-seeded Utah to open competition. 4-2. Tulsa then fell to the top seed and sixth-ranked Ohio State, 4-0, in the regional championship match.

This is the third consecutive season the two teams have met, with the Aggies (2-0) winning both meetings. Texas A&M has only played two dual matches in 2020, but has booked its ticket to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships next month at Wisconsin. College Station, Texas, served as one of the regional sites last weekend, as the Aggies defeated South Alabama and Georgia Tech in back-to-back 4-0 decisions.

The Aggies are one of the most talented teams in the country, as they are tied with USC for the most singles players in the top 125 with seven - No. 3 Valentin Vacherot, No. 10 Hady Habib, No. 27 Juan Carlos Aguilar, No. 74 Pierce Rollins, No. 75 Baraby Smith, No. 105 Noah Schacter and No. 107 Austin Abbrat.

Fans in attendance for Friday's match will have the opportunity to win a raffle containing a pair of tickets and a parking pass to Saturday's men's basketball contest vs. No. 23 Wichita State at 5 p.m. Fans unable to make the match will still be able to follow along via live stream and live stats.

Following Friday's dual match, the Hurricane hit the road to face more SEC competition. They will head to Alabama (RV) and LSU, before returning to Case Tennis Center on Wednesday, February 19, vs. Arkansas.
