TULSA, Okla. –
The Tulsa women's tennis team opens the month of February in Stillwater for a match dual against in-state rival and No. 16 Oklahoma State on Saturday at 12 noon.

The Golden Hurricane (6-1) head into the Cowgirls (5-1) match looking to create a winning streak as the road team. In the last meeting in Stillwater, then 24th-ranked Tulsa ended nationally-ranked Oklahoma State's season, 4-2. With the win, TU advanced to the Sweet 16 of the 2018 NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.

A win would keep the Hurricane headed in the right direction. Last weekend, Tulsa split competition in the Duke regional of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Kick-Off Weekend. The No. 3-seeded Golden Hurricane upset No. 2-seeded Mississippi State, 4-3, before falling to top-seeded and fifth-ranked Duke, 4-0. Before the loss, the 6-0 overall mark was the program's best start to a season in over a decade.

The Cowgirls feature three players ranked in the top 95 of the ITA singles rankings - No. 16 Lisa Marie Rioux, No. 29 Bunyawi Thamchaiwat and No. 92 Ayumi Miyamoto. Two OSU tandems are among the top 40 doubles teams - No. 17 Miyamoto and Rioux and No. 39 Thamchaiwat and Dariya Detkovskaya, who are one spot above Tulsa's No. 40 Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner. Okalova is the lone Hurricane in the singles rankings. On Tuesday, the No. 52 ranked player was named the American Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the second straight week.

The two teams have already squared off three times this season. The Hurricane went 1-1 vs. OSU in singles and 0-1 in doubles during fall competition.

Fans can follow the match via live stats and live stream.

The Golden Hurricane will be on the road for nearly the entire month of February. Tulsa hosts Abilene Christian on Sunday, February 9, at 1 p.m., but will then play three consecutive matches on the road.
