The Tulsa women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to #18 Memphis on Thursday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The Golden Hurricane fell to 6-6-1 on the season and 1-3 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Tigers moved to 9-1-1 overall and 3-0 in the league.

"We made two mistakes in the first half and they made us pay for it," Tulsa Head Coach Jim Rhein said. "When you play a team that is in the top-25 you can't do that. The effort was there, but we just made those two mistakes and that was the difference in the game. When we settled down and played, we could play with them."

With just 1:14 ticked off the clock, Tanya Boychuk one-timed the ball into the lower right corner of the net off a cross by Jocelyn Alonzo to give the Tigers an early 1-0 lead. Aubrey Mister punched in the rebound off her own shot attempt in the 42^nd minute from six yards out to give Memphis a 2-0 advantage at the break.

Neither team found the back of the net in the second half for the final 2-0 score.

Mia Darden had two shots for the Hurricane, while Liliana Fernandez, Kayla Fernandez and Bree Doeble each had one attempt. Raegan Beeding logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up six saves.

Memphis had an 18-5 lead in shots, including an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal, and a 10-1 lead in corner kicks.

Tulsa will return to action on Sunday, October 10 against UCF beginning at 12:00 pm Central in Orlando, Fla.
