Tulsa’s Temira Poindexter Named The American Freshman of the Week

Tulsa forward Temira Poindexter was named as the American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week, as announced today by the league office.

Poindexter had a team-leading 23 points in her collegiate debut to lead Tulsa to a 77-62 win over Duquesne last week. She went 8-of-14 from the field for 57-percent, while hitting all five of her free throw attempts. Poindexter also had five rebounds and two assists in the contest.

Poindexter is the fourth TU player honored by The American and first since the 2016-17 season.
