Tulsa men's soccer players Alex Meinhard and Mariano Fazio were named as the American Athletic Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, by the conference office.

Meinhard recorded both goals for Tulsa to give the Golden Hurricane a 2-1 win over #15 SMU last week.  Meinhard scored his sixth goal of the season as he drilled in shot from the top left corner of the box into the lower right corner of the goal at the 19:36 mark.  He then netted the game-winning goal, his fifth of the season, at the 80:41 mark.  Will Edwards played a long ball up the middle of the field to Malik Henry-Scott who crossed the ball to Meinhard for the goal from six yards out.

Meinhard had a team-best seven shots, three of which were on goal, in 90 minutes of action.

Fazio played all 90 minutes for the Tulsa defense and was named as TU's "Man of the Match" for his efforts.  Fazio helped hold the SMU offense to just nine shots, two of which were on goal.  Coming into the game, the Mustangs averaged 15.5 shots per game and 7.3 shots on goal per game.

This was Meinhard's fourth weekly honor as he was also tabbed as the Offensive Player of the Week on March 1, as well as the Rookie of the Week on February 8 and March 22.  This was Fazio's first weekly accolade.
