Roosa Wins Offensive Player of the Week
•  Starting setter Roosa Rautio was selected as the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on March 1 after her impressive play against Memphis..
•  During the first game, the Finnish setter recorded 48 assists, 12 per set ... Rautio added 5 digs, 3 blocks, an ace and a kill ... she teamed up with Maggie Hembree to end the match on a block.
•  Rautio continued her strong play on Friday, putting in 41 assists on 51 Hurricane kills ... she recorded her third double-double of the season tallying 10 digs in the process. 
•  In the two matches the setter combined for 12.71 assists per set ... while assisting on 89 of 104 Hurricane kills.

The Emergence of Kylie Trefflich
•  Kylie Trefflich is in her first season with the Hurricane after transferring from Texas Tech ... Trefflich transferred last spring and has practiced with the team for a year.
•  Against Memphis, the outside hitter showed out ... she put in 16 kills on 42 attacks with just one error for a .357 hitting percentage ... Trefflich also added 3 digs and 2 blocks for TU.
•  Trefflich continued her strong weekend on Friday, adding in 10 kills on 25 attacks with just one error for a .360 hitting percentage.
•  After her weekend against the Tigers, Trefflich was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll.

Sweeping the Tigers
•  The Golden Hurricane entered last weekend 0-2 looking to get things going ... TU went on to win 6 of the 7 sets against Memphis, leaving the Bluff City with a .500 record.
•  TU won the first match behind a strong dose of Kylie Trefflich, Kayley Cassaday and Maggie Hembree who each had double-digit kills for the Hurricane ... defensively 4 Hurricane players had 3 or more blocks and Hannah Overmyer led the team with 23 digs.
•  During the second match Callie Cook, Cassaday and Trefflich were all had double-figure kills ... Cook went 13 for 24 with one error and a .500 hitting percentage ... Lauren Isenberg had a career-high 21 digs to lead the Hurricane.

Scouting the Cougars 
 •  Houston has opened its season with an 8-2 record and a 4-0 start in AAC play.
•  Last season when the two squared off in the Reynolds Center, Houston edged out a 3-1 victory ... Houston won each set by 2 in the match.
•   Houston stretched its winning streak to eight in the first matchup with Texas Tech, which the Cougars won 3-0, before falling in five sets in the second contest with the Red Raiders.
•  The Cougars are led offensively by sophomore outside hitter Abbie Jackson who is averaging 5.90 kills per set
