Tulsa Rowing Set for Longhorn Invitational on Saturday

4/23/2021 9:59:00 AM | Rowing

The Tulsa rowing team is back in action this Saturday, April 24 at the Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas.

"The team has been working hard and I am really pleased with the advances we have made since our last regatta," Head Coach Kevin Harris said.  "We've been able to get on the water more and it's allowed us to make some good adjustments throughout all the lineups.  The Longhorn Invitational has fast teams and that is exactly where we want to be this weekend.  The Golden Hurricane women are looking forward to the challenge.  We are excited and grateful to be racing this spring."

The Golden Hurricane, which is receiving votes in the latest Pocock CRCA Poll presented by USRowing, will take on No. 2 Texas and Notre Dame, which is also receiving votes, on Saturday morning.  The three teams will face off in the Varsity 4+, 2nd Varsity 4+, Varsity 8+ and 2nd Varsity 8+ beginning at 8:00 am and will compete for a spot in the 'A' or 'B' final later in the morning.

Other teams competing at the event that TU could face in the finals include #1 (Division II) Central Oklahoma, #10 Alabama, #14 SMU and Oklahoma.
