The Tulsa men's soccer team battled through the storm to claim a 1-0 win over USF on Friday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The Golden Hurricane moved to 6-3-1 on the season, while the Bulls fell to 4-6 overall.

"We had it all tonight with the rain delay, the lights going off and the sprinklers coming on," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "I am just proud of the guys tonight for grinding it out. We lost some guys tonight, but we are thankful for the depth that we have because it was a big part of our win."

The teams played for 16:30 off the clock, when a lightening delay at 7:27 pm stopped the game for 83 minutes with the contest resuming at 8:50 pm.

The two teams were held scoreless for nearly 83 minutes but Mariano Fazio headed in score from two yards out on the right side of the goal off a corner kick taken by Marcos Moreno at the 82:50 mark.

At 10:23 pm with just 2:35 left to play in the contest, the lights went out at the stadium. After 20 minutes the lights came back on and the game was completed.

USF had a 12-6 lead in shots, including a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal, while TU had a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.

Jonathan Cervantes had a team-best two shots, while four others had one attempt. Lucas Cline logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up five saves.

Tulsa will return to action on Thursday, April 15^th in the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Championship. The opponent and time will be announced at a later date.
