Tulsa’s Kody Pearson Faces Nation’s 3rd-Ranked Player in Opening Round of NCAA Singles

ORLANDO, Fla. –– Tulsa's Kody Pearson opens play at the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Singles Championship on Sunday against the No. 3 seeded Hady Habib of Texas A&M.
 
The first round match takes place this Sunday, May 23, at 12:30 p.m. (CT) at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
 
Pearson is making his first career NCAA appearance after compiling a 13-8 record from the No. 1 position this season. He currently sits 50th in the ITA national rankings, while Habib is ranked No. 3 nationally with an overall 18-5 mark.
 
The winner of this match plays the winner of the Cannon Kingsley (Ohio State) and William Blumberg (North Carolina) match in the round of 32 on Monday, May 24 at 12 p.m. (CT).
 
Pearson's appearance at the NCAA Championship is the 28th time that a Tulsa player has been selected for the NCAA singles championship.
