Tulsa’s Duo of Okalova and Ploner Open NCAA Tournament Play 3:30 PM (CT) Monday

ORLANDO, Fla. –– Tulsa's No. 1 doubles team of Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner open NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Doubles Championship competition at the USTA National Campus on Monday. The Golden Hurricane duo will face Virginia's team of Sofia Munera and Natasha Subhash in the round of 32. Match time is set for 3:30 pm. (CT) / 4:30 p.m. (ET)
The Tulsa tandem is ranked 66th in the most recent ITA poll and has compiled a 16-3 record, including a 5-0 mark against ranked opponents. The Virginia duo has posted an overall 10-7 record this year and is ranked 17th nationally.
Okalova and Ploner will be looking to return to the NCAA quarterfinals this year, a feat that the duo accomplished in the 2019 season, thus earning All-America honors that year.
The winner will advance to the round of 16 against the winner of the Florida (Marlee Zein/McCartney Kessler) vs. Louisville (Raven Neely/Tatiana Simova) match.
