
Isaac Akers Wins 1,500m Run Event at Arkansas Twilight

Isaac Akers won the 1,500m run event with a personal-best time of 3:42.75, while Ali Lund finished second in the javelin and Henry Visser was third in the 400m hurdles on Friday night at the Arkansas Twilight in Fayetteville, Ark.
MEN
Isaac Akers won the 1,500m run event with a personal-best time of 3:42.75, marking the fourth-best time in program history. Michael Gates finished 21st in a time of 4:01.55.
Henry Visser recorded a third-place time of 53.59 in the 400m hurdles, while Emmanuel Okwuone was fifth with a time of 55.15.
In the 100m dash preliminary race, Zachary Adee (10.525) and Josh Sutton (10.528) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, but they did not race in the finals.
Sutton, Adee, Henry Visser and Kyran Lacy recorded a time of 40.84 in the 4x100m relay for fourth place, marking the third-best time in school history.
In the 400m dash, Kyran Lacy was eighth in a time of 49.23 and Daryl Turner posted a personal-best time of 50.30 for 14th place.
Jacob Brown ran the 800m run in a time of 1:56.12 for ninth place.
WOMEN
Ali Lund threw the javelin a distance of 46.76m (153'5"), a personal-best and the second-best in school history, for a second-place finish.
Jaidyn McCallon recorded a personal-best time of 54.88 in the 400m dash for a fourth-place finish, while Ca'Purnika Galbert had a season-best time of 56.08 for sixth place and Kaitlyn Johnson was 10th (58.92).
In the long jump, Carsyn Spurgeon tallied a fourth-place distance of 5.78m (18'11.75") and Rachel Hamel was 11th with a distance of 4.97m (16'3.75").
Jaidah McCallon posted a fourth-place time of 2:11.25 in the 800m run, while Brianna Hays had a personal-best time of 2:11.30 for fifth place and Keely Jones was seventh in a time of 2:17.90.
In the 200m dash, Cara Johnson was fifth in a time of 25.33 and Rachel Hamel was eighth with a time of 26.46.
Katharina Pesendorfer (7th – 4:32.26), Alice Newcombe (9th – 4:34.53) and Layla Roebke (10th – 4:37.46) all recorded personal-bests in the 1,500m run.
In the 100m dash preliminary race, Cara Johnson turned in a season-best time of 12.14 for a 10th-place finish, while Hannah Booe (12.54) was 12th and Carsyn Spurgeon (12.60) was 14th.
Rachel Hamel captured a ninth-place time of 14.16 in the 100m hurdles preliminary race to advance to the finals where she finished sixth in a time of 14.40.
