The Tulsa volleyball team defeated Southern Illinois, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon, 29-27, 27-25, 21-25, 25-22, during the final day of the Redhawks Invitational. Tulsa closes out the non-conference slate with a 5-4 mark, while the Salukis dropped to 5-8 overall.

The first two sets were tightly contested as Tulsa had to score more than 25 points in each set to win, while the third set went to the Salukis. In the fourth set, TU was down 18-20, but outscored SIU, 7-2, in the end to capture the win.

Kayley Cassaday posted a match-best 21 kills and had 10 digs for a double-double. Maggie Hembree added 12 kills, while Marta Pecalli had a team-high 22 digs. Avery Kalsu had 49 of TU's 57 assists.

Tulsa will begin conference play at Houston on September 24^th at 7 pm.
