
Laia Conde Monfort Tabbed AAC Women’s Player of the Week

TULSA, Okla. ― Tulsa's Laia Conde Monfort was named American Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, and takes home the first weekly honors of 2022, the league announced today.
Monfort, who is ranked No. 91 in the ITA singles rankings, has a 3-0 singles record so far this season at the No. 1 position, while also tallying a 4-0 doubles record, helping the Hurricane to a 4-0 start on the season.
Last weekend, Monfort recorded her first ranked win of the season, beating No. 105 Malkia Ngounoue of Kansas 6-3, 7-5 to propel Tulsa to a 5-2 victory over the Jayhawks.
Tulsa continues its spring schedule this weekend at the ITA Kickoff in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Hurricane will face Oregon on Saturday, and either North Carolina or Charlotte on Sunday.
