NEW ORLEANS, LA. —
The University of Tulsa volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep (25-17, 25-23, 25-20) over the Tulane Green Wave (6-14, 1-8 AAC) Friday night on the road in New Orleans.
 
The Golden Hurricane snapped the five-match losing streak to move to 10-10 overall on the year and 3-5 in American Athletic Conference action.
 
Tulsa was led by a double-double from outside hitter Kayley Cassaday, who registered 14 kills and 10 digs on the day. She has now reached double-digit kills in 18 of 20 matches this season.
 
Outside hitter Bailey Rowe was an efficient attacker for Tulsa, accumulating 10 kills and only one error in 18 total attacks for a .500 hitting percentage.
 
Tulsa attackers benefitted from 37 assists from setters Avery Kalsu (20) and Brayden Hipp (17). They each now have 388 assists on the year.
 
On the defensive end, libero Marta Pecalli chipped in 22 digs to go with two blocks from middle blocker Arianna Mongare.
 
"I thought we were locked in from the beginning," said Head Volleyball Coach Ryan Wills. "Our offense was efficient, and our defense stepped up big time. Both sides of the ball were balanced tonight. Our service game is also as good as it's been in a while."
 
The Hurricane will remain on the road to take on No. 24-ranked Houston (18-2, 9-0 AAC) on Sunday, October 23, at 1 p.m.

How It Happened
 
SET 1 | The Hurricane grabbed control of the set-one lead at 4-3 and never trailed to win 25-17. Tulsa led by as many as eight points at 24-16 before finishing off the set, collecting 15 kills while only committing one attack error in the process. Tulsa also supplemented their offense with three service aces in the opening set.
 
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, the Hurricane put itself on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-23 victory in set number two. Tulsa survived a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured three lead changes and seven tie scores. Neither team led by more than three points along the way. The Hurricane racked up 18 kills over the course of the set.
 
SET 3 | Tulsa took set three to win in straight sets. The Hurricane won the set 25-20 helped by a strong showing on the attacking end. Tulsa put together a .353 attack percentage with 14 kills to win the set. The Hurricane opened up a 19-11 lead in the stanza and coasted to victory from there. The Tulsa offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.
