PHILADELPHIA, Pa. —
Sophomore libero Marta Pecalli reached the 1,000 career-dig mark during The University of Tulsa volleyball team's four-set victory (25-21, 25-18, 24-26, 25-14) over the Temple Owls (9-15, 3-10 AAC) Friday night in Philadelphia.
 
The Trieste, Italy native needed only 12 digs to surpass the feat, and she delivered with a team-leading 16 digs to lead the Golden Hurricane to victory.
 
The win improved Tulsa's record to 11-13 overall and 4-8 in AAC action.
 
Outside hitter Kayley Cassaday went on a rampage for the Tulsa offense as she recorded 24 kills and only one error in 52 total attacks (.442). She also landed a career-high three solo blocks and finished the night with a team-leading four blocks. To cap off the historic night, she added 10 digs to secure her seventh double-double of the season.
 
Setter Avery Kalsu put up a whopping 45 assists on the night to boost the unrelenting Hurricane attack.
 
"I'm not surprised [Marta Pecalli] reached the 1,000 career-dig mark so early in her career," said Head Volleyball Coach Ryan Wills. "She works hard and puts in the work to be a great volleyball player."
 
Tulsa will stay on the road to take on East Carolina (8-17, 3-10 AAC) on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m.

How It Happened
 
SET 1 | The Hurricane took the first set 25-21 propelled by a solid performance on the attacking side. Tulsa put together a .387 attack percentage with 14 kills in the set victory. The Hurricane also supplemented their offense with three aces in the opening set.
 
SET 2 | Tulsa built on a set-one win by earning a 25-18 victory in set two. The Hurricane scored first and never trailed in the set to secure the victory. Tulsa opened its biggest lead of the stanza, seven points, to close out the set, totaling 15 kills without notching an attack error in the process. The Hurricane hit .385 over the course of the set.
 
SET 3 | Tulsa saw its bid for a 3-0 win end when Temple took set three. The Hurricane lost the set 26-24 in spite of a solid showing on the attacking side. Tulsa put together a .317 attack percentage with 17 kills in the set loss.
 
SET 4 | Tulsa then responded to earn the match win with a 25-14 set-four victory. The Hurricane led from the opening point on in the set to earn the victory. Tulsa opened up as much as a 12-point lead at 17-5 before finishing off the stanza.
