
Shay McEvoy Sets Facility Record, Pesendorfer and Baker Take First at Windy City Invite

CHICAGO Ill. & PITTSBURG, Kan. ― Tulsa's Shay McEvoy, Katharina Pesendorfer, and Christian Baker all left Chicago with victories following the conclusion of the Windy City Invite, as Tulsa completed two track meets today.

McEvoy, who now has two victories in the 3,000-meter run this season, edged out Purdue's Curtis Eckstein by less than a second. McEvoy set the 3,000-meter record at the Track and Field Center at Gately Park in Chicago, Illinois.

Tulsa swept the mile run in both men's and women's as Pesendorfer tallied her second victory of the season with a 4:46.27, a new personal best. Baker, who took eighth in the mile at the Washburn Open, shaved two seconds off that time with a 4:06.43.

In the mile run invite, Isaac Akers, who was named the AAC runner of the week on February 1st, finished sub-four minutes at 3:59.39, a new personal best for the Market Harborough, England product.

Between the two meets, Tulsa finished the day with 23 top-10 finishes, and 12 top-5 finishes.

The Hurricane will finish up the indoor regular season on Friday, February 18th at the Arkansas Qualifier before the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on February 25-26.
