ORLANDO, Fla. –– The University of Tulsa never held a lead in a 76-67 loss to UCF on Monday night in the Addition Financial Arena.

The Golden Hurricane dropped to 8-16 and 2-11 in the American Athletic Conference with the loss, while UCF improved to 15-8, 7-6 in the AAC.

Jeriah Horne paced Tulsa with 18 points and four rebounds. Darien Jackson continued his high-level of production, scoring 16 points on 46 percent shooting, including three 3-pointers. He also pulled down five rebounds and blocked a shot. Anthony Pritchard reached double figures in scoring for the second straight game, putting up 10 points to go alongside three assists and a steal.

The Knights had four players finish in double figure scoring, led by Brandan Mahan's 17. Darius Johnson scored 14, Darius Perry put up 12 and Darin Green, Jr. had 11. Cheikh Mbacke Diong and Perry each had six rebounds, and Johnson and Mahan pulled down five apiece.

The Hurricane shot 42 percent from the field and 32 percent from three, while UCF was 50 and 44 percent for the game. Tulsa turned it over 18 times to UCF's 15, but the Knights doubled TU's points off turnovers 26-13.

The Hurricane came out of the gate slow, connecting on only one of its first seven shots from the floor, a Griffin 3-pointer, and quickly found itself down 14-7 before Horne knocked down his first three of the evening at the 13:16 mark.

The Knights then went on a 14-5 run to go up 28-15 with a little less than eight minutes remaining. A 3-pointer pushed the lead to 16, 36-20, with 5:53 to play, the largest lead of the half.

Jackson then spearheaded a 9-0 Hurricane run, scoring seven of the nine points, forcing a UCF timeout with the Knights leading 36-29. UCF responded with five straight points before a Jackson free throw with 1:12 to send the teams to the locker rooms with Tulsa trailing 41-30.

Tulsa shot 33 percent from the field and from three in the opening half while UCF hit 57 percent of its shots and 46 percent from deep, hitting five treys. Jackson led Tulsa with 11 first half points, while Horne put up nine.

Horne came out of the locker room and immediately hit a layup to get Tulsa back within nine. But every time Tulsa made a run, UCF would respond right back. The Hurricane got the lead down to six, 43-37, less than two minutes into the half, and the Knights responded with two quick buckets to get the lead back to 10.

A 5-0 run from Tulsa got the Hurricane within 49-44 at the 16:08 mark, which was a close as TU would get. Jackson hit a three to get Tulsa within eight, 63-55, UCF went on an 11-0 run to break the game open with 4:11 left.

Tulsa continues its road trip against South Florida on Saturday before finishing with games at SMU and East Carolina. Tipoff for Saturday's matchup is set for 11 a.m. on ESPNU.
