Tulsa’s Power Advances to NCAA Championship with Fifth Place in the 5,000 Meters

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –– Tulsa's Micheal Power placed fifth in the 5,000 meters Friday night at the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Preliminary Championships.
Power clocked a time of 13:31.4 and took the final spot of regional qualification for the NCAA Championships, June 8-11, in Eugene, Oregon.
Tulsa's Scott Beattie finished in 21st place with a time of 13:45.42 and Isaac Akers placed 29th with a time of 13:59.17.
On Saturday, Layla Roebke and Katharina Pesendorfer will close out Tulsa's regional competitors by competing in the women's 3,000m steeplechase, expected to start at 5:40 p.m.
