Tulsa Runners Finish West Regional on Saturday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. ––
Tulsa's Layla Roebke just missed qualifying for the NCAA Championship Finals in the 3,000-meters as one of the top-12 finishers. She and teammate Katharina Pesendorfer placed 13th and 28th, respectively, Saturday at the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Preliminary Championships.
 
Roebke clocked a personal-best time of 10:09.23, while Pesendorfer finished in a time of 10:34.47. In Heat 2, Roebke finished in fourth and Pesendorfer in 10th place.
 
Oregon's Malia Pivec took the final qualifying spot, inching past Tulsa's Roebke with a time of 10:08.66.
 
On Friday night, Tulsa's Micheal Power advanced to the NCAA Championships in the 5,000m. He clocked a time of 13:31.4 and took the final spot of regional qualification championship round, June 8-11, in Eugene, Oregon.
