The University of Tulsa women's basketball head coach Angie Nelp announced the appointment of Courtnie Lewis as the coordinator of recruiting operations.
"I am excited for Courtnie to join our TU family," Nelp said. "She is a rising star in our profession. Her work ethic and passion for the game have been evident throughout her playing career and she will make a seamless transition into the coaching side of the game. Courtnie will provide great leadership to our players and help them develop for life beyond basketball."
Lewis was a four-year letterwinner at Eastern Michigan University. She started in 75 of 116 games and averaged 10.4 points (1,207) and 3.4 rebounds (397) in 24.3 minutes per game. She shot 38.5-perent from the field, 34.5-percent from behind the arc and 74.7-percent from the free throw line. Lewis was a Mid-American Conference all-conference third-team selection and all-freshmen team honoree during the 2017-18 campaign.
Lewis was selected to participate in the So You Want to be a Coach program in 2022, as well as the NCAA Career in Sports Forum in 2021. While at EMU, she worked with the Student-Athlete Support Services office, served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was an EMU women's basketball summer camp counselor.
Lewis earned her bachelor's degree in communication from Eastern Michigan in 2020 and is expected to earn her master's degree in sport management this summer, also from EMU.
