Lincoln, Neb. — The University of Tulsa volleyball team took the first set but couldn't hold on and lost in four sets (25-22, 21-25, 26-28, 16-25) to the Pepperdine Waves during the first match of the Husker Invitational Friday. 
 
The Golden Hurricane offense was paced by Kayley Cassaday, who finished with 14 kills, and by Bailey Rowe, who had 11. Brayden Hipp recorded 20 assists followed by Avery Kalsu with 16.
 
Three players reached double figures in digs, including Marta Pecalli and Aysu Dalogullari, who both had 20, while Brayden Hipp added 15. From the front row, Rachel Brown contributed six blocks and Cassaday added five rejections.
 
The Golden Hurricane will continue their opening weekend against the No. 1 ranked Nebraska Huskers tonight at 6:30 p.m.

» Bailey Rowe had eight kills and zero errors (.500) before committing her first error late in the third set. 
» Tulsa committed only two errors out of 43 total attempts in their set one victory.
