Season Stats

Lincoln, Neb. — The University of Tulsa volleyball team fell to the No. 1 ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers in three sets (15-25, 12-25, 13-25) Friday in Lincoln.
 
The non-conference loss moved Tulsa to 0-2 to start the season.
 
Kayley Cassaday finished with 10 kills to lead the Golden Hurricane offense. Tulsa attackers were helped by a team-high 10 assists from Avery Kalsu.
 
Defensively, Tulsa was led by Aysu Dalogullari who secured 10 digs on the night.
 
"We saw signs of some really good things, but we have to be more consistent," said Head Volleyball Coach Ryan Wills. "We played two great teams that were better than us today. We will have a fight on our hands tomorrow with another great team that will challenge us in multiple ways."
 
The Hurricane will finish the Husker Invitational tomorrow against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 1:30 p.m.
 
 
Game Notes
» Brayden Hipp had back-to-back services aces to help the Hurricane get off to a 9-7 start in the first set.
» Aysu Dalogullari led the Hurricane with a .316 hitting percentage after recording six kills and zero errors in 19 total attacks.
» Rachel Brown, Kayley Cassaday, Arianna Mongare, and Bailey Rowe each recorded a block assist.
 
 
How It Happened
 
SET 1 | The Golden Hurricane found themselves in an early hole, losing a tough first set 25-15. Tulsa trailed by as many as 10 points as Nebraska grabbed the advantage for good at 11-10 in a set that was tied up six times before the Cornhuskers took control.
 
SET 2 | A 25-12 set-two loss put Tulsa in a 2-0 hole in the match. Tulsa trailed by as many as 13 points in a set that was knotted up just once before the Cornhuskers took over the lead.
 
SET 3 | Tulsa was not able to win set three and was swept by Nebraska. The Golden Hurricane lost a tough set 25-13. Tulsa trailed by as many as 12 points as Nebraska grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was knotted up just once before the Cornhuskers took over the lead.
