Gaber Takes Down Ranked Opponent in Tulsa’s 6-1 Loss to #3 TCU

TULSA, Okla. — Senior Adham Gaber of The University of Tulsa men's tennis team defeated TCU's Pedro Vives—the country's 76^th-ranked singles player—to prevent the shutout during the Golden Hurricane's 6-1 loss to the No. 3 Horned Frogs (3-0).

The first loss of the year drops the Hurricane's record to 2-1.

Gaber, from Cairo, Egypt, earns his first ranked singles win of the year at the No. 5 position. After dropping the first point in set one, Gaber fought back to take the advantage at 2-1, maintaining no higher than a two-point lead on the way to a 6-4 set one victory.

Gaber and Vives traded points to start the second set. Gaber took control at 3-2 and didn't look back, earning the 6-3 set win and scoring Tulsa's only point of the dual.

Tulsa will return to action on the road to face Oregon (2-0) on Saturday, Jan. 28, during ITA Kick Off Weekend in Columbus, Ohio.
