Tulsa Men Head to Ohio for ITA Kickoff Weekend

TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa men's tennis team (2-1) will travel to Columbus, Ohio, to partake in the 15^th annual Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Kickoff Weekend. It is the 13^th year the Golden Hurricane men have appeared in the tournament.

All matches will stream on Ohio State's PlaySight live stream.

Spanning Saturday, Jan. 28, to Sunday, Jan. 29, Tulsa will compete in a bracket that includes Oregon (2-0), UCF (1-1) and No. 2 Ohio State (5-0). Tulsa will play Oregon at 1 p.m. on Saturday and face either UCF or the hosting Buckeyes in a championship or consolation dual on Sunday.

The ITA Kickoff Weekend is the first major event of the spring season, bringing together the top 60 men's and women's college tennis teams for a weekend of intense competition. Hosted by 15 men's programs and 15 women's programs from across the country, the ITA Kickoff Weekend is an early-season test for teams against programs they might not typically face.

Each season, the ITA Kickoff Weekend field is determined by the ITA Kickoff Weekend Draft held in the summer months after the previous dual-match season. The Top 15 ranked teams in the final ITA Rankings of the season automatically serve as hosts.

The advancing winner from each four-team bracket will compete in the 2023 Men's ITA National Team Indoor Championships set for Feb. 17-20.
