Tulsa Women Wrap up Action at the ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. — Losses in Thursday's consolation rounds of the Main Singles and Doubles Draws of the ITA Women's All-American Tennis Championships have ended Tulsa's campaign in the annual tournament. Fifth-year senior Oleksandra Nahurska and juniors Maria Berlanga Bandera and Ana Naranjo Martinez represented TU and gained crucial experience in competing against some of the highest-ranked athletes in the nation.
 
Nahurska highlighted Tulsa's showing in the tourney with a 7-5, 5-7, 7-6(5) victory over the country's 103rd-ranked player Anessa Lee (Vanderbilt) in the opening round of the Qualifying Singles Draw. In the round of 64, Nahurska fell in straight sets to #31 Anika Yarlagadda.
 
Up next for Tulsa is the ITA Central Regional Championships, spanning Oct. 12-16 on the University of Kansas campus in Lawrence.
