TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa women's tennis team will host the Tulsa Invite at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center this weekend to conclude the fall season. It'll be the fourth straight fall season the Golden Hurricane women will end with a home tournament.
The three-day event—featuring singles and doubles play each day of the tournament—will start on Friday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday have 10 a.m. start times. Tulsa players will face athletes from Wichita State, Central Arkansas and North Texas.
The Hurricane will see all seven athletes hit the courts this weekend. After nearly two months of individual competition, the Tulsa women are a combined 25-17 in singles play with a 3-10 mark in doubles action.
Fifth-year senior Oleksandra Nahurska leads the way with a 6-2 record in singles play, which includes her first career ranked win over Vanderbilt's Anessa Lee (No. 103) in the opening round of the main draw of the ITA Women's All-American Championships in October.
The duo of Myroslava Zelenchuk and Saniya Singh are 2-2 together to start the year. They took down Northern Arizona's Ana Karen Guadiana Campos and Daryna Shoshyna 6-4 at the Lumberjack Classic. The TU pair followed up with an 8-3 victory over Sandra Gines and Norhan Heshman of Saint Louis in the first round of the ITA Central Regional Championships in Kansas.
