Hurricane Falls to Wake Forest and Finishes Consolation Match With Alabama on Saturday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The University of Tulsa women's tennis team fell 4-0 to #38 Wake Forest (6-5) Friday during the opening round of the 75th Annual Blue Gray National Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Ala.
The loss drops Tulsa to 7-4 on the season.
Due to a 90-minute weather delay, the Tulsa-Wake Forest match began with singles play. The Demon Deacons won the No. 2, 4, 5 and 6 positions, all in straight sets, to clinch the 4-0 sweep over Tulsa.
Later in the day, the Hurricane squared off against Alabama (5-3) to open the consolation round. TU fell short of grabbing the doubles point, dropping 7-5 decisions at the No. 1 and 3 spots.
Tulsa and Alabama will engage in the singles portion of the match starting at 8 a.m. tomorrow.
