Hurricane Women to Host Kansas State

TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa women's tennis team is set to host Kansas State this Saturday, Feb. 11, in the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, starting at 1 p.m.

Admission is free for all, and the first 100 fans to arrive at Case Tennis will receive a free long-sleeve T-shirt.

At 5-3 overall, the Golden Hurricane enters the weekend as the winningest team in the American Athletic Conference, while Kansas State sits at the bottom of Big 12 standings with a 1-5 record.

Tulsa and K-State have met twice in the last decade with both meetings occurring in the last two seasons. TU edged the Wildcats 4-3 at home in 2021 and took a 4-2 loss in Manhattan last season.

Lily Hutchings (12-4) and Myroslava Zelenchuk (12-5) enter the weekend as Tulsa's winningest singles athletes this year with 12 wins each. Hutchings has primarily competed at the No. 3 position in the spring season, accumulating a 4-2 record, while Zelenchuk has gone 4-3 in the No. 4 and No. 5 positions.

Zelenchuk and freshman partner Amy Leather lead the Hurricane with an 8-4 doubles record. The duo is currently 5-2 at Doubles No. 3.
