Tulsa Seniors End Home Slate in Doubleheader against No. 38 Oklahoma State and Creighton

TULSA, Okla. —
The University of Tulsa men's tennis team (8-11) will wrap up the home slate of the 2022-23 season in a doubleheader with No. 38 Oklahoma State (12-8) and Creighton (11-4) on Saturday, April 8. The No. 59 Golden Hurricane will face OSU at 11 a.m. and Creighton at 6 p.m.
 
Tulsa will honor seniors Connor Di Marco, Stefan Hampe, Adham Gaber, Kody Pearson, Ezequiel Santalla and Daniel Siddall before the Creighton match.
 
Connor Di Marco is a four-year letterwinner from Melbourne, Australia. He is 38-34 in singles play and 49-25 in doubles play for 87 total wins for the Hurricane. A 13-7 record in 2022 that included a 9-4 record at Doubles No. 1 earned him a spot on the American Athletic Conference Doubles All-Conference Team. He has earned a national doubles ranking in every year of competition at TU, ranking as high as No. 29 in 2021.
 
From Cairo, Egypt, Adham Gaber is a two-year letterwinner at Tulsa after transferring from Southwest Baptist. At TU, he is 23-23 in singles play and 22-18 in doubles play for 45 total wins. He has been ranked as high as No. 53 in the national ITA doubles polls.  
 
Stefan Hampe is a five-year letterwinner at TU. The Wildberg, Germany product has garnered 84 wins across singles and doubles play for the Hurricane. In singles play, he has put together multiple double-digit win seasons, including 14-win campaigns in 2019 and 2022.
 
Kody Pearson, a native of Sydney, Australia, is a five-year letterwinner. He is 73-42 in singles play and 59-37 in doubles, totaling 132 total wins for Tulsa. He has received national ITA rankings in every year of competition, ranking as high as No. 26 in singles play (2020) and No. 29 in doubles play (2021). He is a three-time all-conference selection and was named the 2022 American Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Year. He has also made two appearances in the NCAA Division I Men's Singles Championships.
 
Ezequiel Santalla is a four-year letterwinner from Mar del Plata, Argentina. The two-time conference player of the week has earned 82 total wins in his career at Tulsa. He has put together four double-digit win seasons and has been nationally ranked in both singles (No. 83) and doubles play (No. 53).
 
Originating from London, England, Daniel Siddall is a five-year letterwinner for Tulsa. He has put together multiple strong seasons for the Hurricane, including a 2023 campaign where he has 12 singles wins and 11 doubles wins.
 
Oklahoma State, 12-8 on the year, is coming off back-to-back 5-2 and 4-0 losses to No. 1 Texas (18-2) and No. 3 TCU (18-1) on the road last week.
 
Two ranked singles players and one doubles team headline the Cowboys' lineups. No. 86 Isaac Becroft and No. 89 Tyler Zink have appeared in the top two positions in singles play. Zink and teammate Chase Ferguson are ranked 65th in doubles play.
 
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series 46-15. Tulsa's last victory over the Cowboys was a 4-3 shootout at home in 2019.
 
Last week, the 11-4 Bluejays earned 5-2 and 7-0 wins over Marquette and Doane to close their home season. This season, Creighton is 1-3 on the road. Tulsa will be the Bluejays' first-ranked opponent of the year.
 
Alejandro Gandini leads the way in singles play at 10-3 on the season across positions 2-4. He's won his last 10 head-to-head matches. In doubles play, Matthew Lanahan and Casey Ross headline the lineup with a 4-2 record at the No. 1 position.
 
Saturday marks the third meeting between Creighton and Tulsa. In the last meeting in 2006, the Hurricane dominated on the way to a 7-0 sweep.
