Facing Temple
• This is the 15th meeting between Tulsa and Temple.
• Temple leads the series 10-4 including a 5-1 mark in Tulsa.
• The Hurricane won last year's only meeting by a score of 69-57 in Philadelphia.
• Tulsa's only win at home in the series came in the first meeting with a 75-67 victory on February 10, 2015.
Starting 2-0 in AAC Play
• Tulsa has started the American Athletic Conference season with. 2-0 record with wins over
Memphis and Tulane.
• In its 10th year as an AAC member, Tulsa is 2-0 in league play for only the fourth time…
other 2-0 starts to the AAC season came in 2015-16, 2018-19 and last year (2022-23).
• With a 71-62 win in the season opener, the Hurricane has now won its AAC opener in each of the last three seasons, including a 55-47 win over eventual AAC Champions East Carolina last year … all three of those games have been played on the road.
After 15 Games
• In the last three seasons under Angie Nelp, Tulsa has reached at least 12 wins in each of those campaigns.

Finishing Non-Conference Play
• Tulsa closed out the non-conference season on Dec. 20 with a 48-47 last second win over Southeastern Louisiana at the Maui Classic.
• Tulsa finished the non-league campaign with a 10-3 record and a five-game winning streak.
• In the Angie Nelp era, Tulsa has posted a 30-7 non-conference record in regular season play.
• Tulsa has won 10 non-league regular season games in each of the last three years under Nelp.

• Tulsa has had 16 20+ scoring games this year.
• Temira Poindexter has nine 20+ scoring games, Delanie Crawford six and Ahrray Young one. have combined for 14 20+ scoring performances this season, while Poindexter and Ahrray Young combined for one.
• Among Poindexter and Crawford's 20+ games they each have one 30+ scoring game.
• Tulsa is 5-0 when two players reach the 20-point mark… Poindexter and Crawford have four games where they each score 20+ points in the same game, including against Lindenwood, New Orleans, Clemson and Florida … Ahrray Young and Poindexter each had 20+ points vs. Tulane.
Making It When You Have To
• In Tulsa's trip to the Maui Classic, free throws late in both contests became critical to Tulsa wins over Texas Tech and SE Louisiana.
• After leading by 17 points, Tulsa held off a furious Texas Tech rally by converting 10-of-12 free throws in the final 1:14 to claim a 66-58 victory.
• A game later against SE Louisiana, Tulsa went to the line just six times, making four, but none were more important until the final 0:01 of the game when Delanie Crawford tied the game at 47 with her first make and her second gave Tulsa a 48-47 victory.
Blocks
• Over the past seven games, Tulsa has shown their blocking ability as the Hurricane has averaged 6.0 blocks (42) in that stretch.
• In the first eight games of the season, Tulsa averaged 3.4 blocked shots thus increasing its total by 2.6 over the last seven games.
• Overall, Tulsa averages 4.6 blocks (69) through 15 games this year.
• Temira Poindexter leads the way with 24 blocks (1.6 bpg), followed by Hadley Periman with 17 (1.1 bpg) and Caranda Perea with 12 (0.8 bpg)
A Familiar Face
• Tulsa senior transfer Caranda Perea is very familiar with the Temple basketball program, spending the previous two seasons at Temple.
• She began her collegiate career at George Washington in 2020-21 and spent the 2021-22 and 2022-23 campaigns with the Owls.
• In the Tulsa game last year, Perea had four points, five rebounds and one block in 28 minutes in a starting role against the Hurricane.
• Perea started 22 of 57 games as an Owl … last year, she averaged 5.0 points and 4.0 rebounds.
Poindexter Moves into 8th Place on Career Scoring Chart
• Temira Poindexter became just the 12th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
• Poindexter now has 1,133 points for a 15.5 average in 73 career games.
• Poindexter has now reached eighth place on the school's career scoring chart and is 168 points shy of tying Lila Osceola (1,301 pts, 1996-00) for seventh place.
• She reached the 1,000-point mark by scoring 15 points at TCU on Dec. 1, which was her 66th career game played … she became the second-fastest to reach 1,000 career points, behind Jillian Robbins (2003-07), who accomplished the feat in 63 games.
• Another Hurricane player, Katia Gallegos has also reached the 1,000-point mark in her career with 1,100 points, including 967 in three seasons at UTEP and 133 points at Tulsa.
More on Poindexter
• Temira Poindexter has now scored in double-digits in all 15 games this year and for the 60th time in 73 career games.
• She has scored in double digits in her last 19 games dating back to last season.
• Poindexter has scored in double digits in the first half of a game eight times this season –– 15 at Lindenwood, 16 vs. New Orleans, 18 vs. UAPB, 16 vs. #25 Mississippi State, 13 at TCU, 12 vs. UCA, 10 vs. Texas Tech and 17 vs. Tulane.
• Poindexter had her ninth game of 20+ points this season and for the 24th time in her career with 24 points against Tulane.
• Poindexter had her sixth career double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds in the UCA game,
Crawford Shows the Way
• Delanie Crawford has been consistent through the first 15 games for the Hurricane … she is not only scoring 17.5 points per game to rank second on the roster, but the junior has done it efficiently.
• Crawford has a .470 field goal percentage, .422 from three-point range and .820 from the charity stripe.
• She is also second on the team for rebounds (97) for a 6.5 average and tied for second in assists (37) for a 2.5 average.
• Crawford has 13 double-digit scoring games and leads Tulsa with three double-figure rebounding games and three double-doubles.
• Crawford scored 20 of Tulsa's 48 points against SE Louisiana, and the most important ones came with 0:01 left in the game when she made 2-of-2 free throws for a 48-47 victory.
Comebacks
• In nine of Tulsa's 12 wins this year, Tulsa has trailed at one point or another in those games.
• In three wins – UCA, Florida and Southeastern Louisiana, the Hurricane trailed late in the 4th quarter.
• Tulsa trailed in all these games at one point (with the largest deficits listed) – Lindenwood (2 pts, 3rd QTR), Northwestern State (2 pts, 1st QTR), UAPB (10 pts, 3rd QTR), Clemson (12 pts, 2nd QTR), UCA (8 pts, 3rd QTR), Florida (6 pts, 4th QTR), Texas Tech (2 pts, 1st QTR), Southeastern Louisiana (10 pts, 3rd QTR) and Memphis (9 pts, 2nd QTR).
• Against UCA, Tulsa trailed by 2 points at the 4:47 mark before Madi Cartwright hit a 3-pointer at the 4:05 mark to give Tulsa the lead for good.
• In the Florida game, Temira Poindexter's two free throws at the 3:38 mark cut a one-point deficit to a tie game at 62-62, before Ahrray Young's layup at the 2:56 mark gave Tulsa the lead for good.
• Against SE Louisiana, Tulsa trailed by 10 at the 7:48 mark of the third quarter, by four with 6:34 remaining and by one point with 0:04 on the clock … Delanie Crawford's two free throws with 0:01 left gave Tulsa a 48-47 win.
Tulsa Gets ACC, SEC and Big 12 Wins
• This season Tulsa garnered non-conference wins over teams from the ACC (Clemson), SEC (Florida) and Big 12 (Texas Tech).
• The Hurricane claimed a 74-64 win over Clemson at the Van Chancellor Classic in Katy Texas, in a home game took down Florida 72-64 and in the opening game at the Maui Classic defeated an 11-0 Texas Tech team 66-58.
• It marks the first time since the 2005-06 season that Tulsa had at least three wins over a school from those conferences, when Tulsa defeated SEC's Arkansas (66-64), Big 12's Oklahoma State (75-68) and ACC's Florida State (80-71) in three consecutive games.
• The win over Florida was the first against an SEC team since an 80-73 win over Alabama on Dec. 1, 2018.
• The last ACC win for Tulsa came against NC State 71-61 in the first round of the 2006 NCAA Tournament.
• The last time Tulsa defeated a Big 12 school was Oklahoma State on Dec. 13, 2020.
The Only One
• American Athletic Conference teams faced SEC teams nine times this season in the non-conference schedule
• Tulsa's 72-64 win over Florida is the only win against an SEC team by an AAC team this year.
Atop the League
• Temira Poindexter leads the American Athletic Conference in scoring with her 20.5 average.
• With nine 20+ scoring games, Poindexter also leads the AAC in that category, while teammate Delanie Crawford's six 20+ scoring games is second in the league.
• Hadley Periman's four 10+ rebounding games ties for third-most in the AAC for games with 10+ rebounds.
• Crawford is also ranked in a third-place tie for fourth in the AAC for double-double games with three.
Periman on the Boards
• Sophomore Hadley Periman came into her second season with zero double-figure rebounding games, and through 15 games this year she has grabbed double-digit rebounds in four games.
• Her previous career-high of nine rebounds came last year against UCA.
• She leads the Hurricane in rebounding with a 7.3 average, while that also ranks among the top-10 in the American Athletic Conference.
• Periman has led Tulsa in rebounding in seven games this season.
• She had a career-high 14 rebounds against Florida, while her previous career-high of 12 boards came in the second game of the season vs. New Orleans … a game later she pulled down 10 boards vs. Northwestern State and had 11 rebounds against UAPB.
Ahrray Returns
• Ahrray Young was back in the lineup for the ORU game after missing the first three games and the final 10 contests a year ago due to injury.
• In 12 games, Young is averaging 9.8 points and 3.9 rebounds since returning to the lineup.
• Young had her first career 20-point game with 20 points against Tulane, as she converted 10-of-15 field goals.
• She has had seven double-figure scoring games this season and 16 for her career.
• As a starter in the last eight games, Young has averaged 11.5 points (92) in those games.
• Young is shooting 52.0% from the field (52-100) in 23.9 minutes of playing time.
• A year ago, Young averaged 8.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists while earning AAC all- freshman team honors.
