TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa men's soccer team is set to play second-place Charlotte (6-1-4, 2-1-1 AAC) for a primetime American Athletic Conference matchup for Alumni Night on Friday. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at the Hurricane Soccer Stadium.

Fans unable to attend the action in person can subscribe to ESPN+ to watch select Golden Hurricane soccer, football, tennis, volleyball, soccer, softball and basketball games. ESPN+ is offered at $10.99/month or $109.99/year. To subscribe, go to plus.espn.com. Fans will be able to access ESPN+ content only after they have subscribed.

The Golden Hurricane (2-7-3, 1-2-1 AAC) is undefeated in October having won a 2-1 decision against Florida Atlantic on the fourth and tying Central Arkansas and UAB in 1-1 contests. TU is currently in a three-way tie for fifth place in the league with Florida Atlantic and UAB as The American Championship begins in just over three weeks. A Hurricane win on Friday and losses by UAB and FAU would put TU in control of its destiny heading into the six-team conference tournament.

This will be the fifth meeting between the Charlotte and Tulsa men. Both teams have an opportunity to grab the lead as the series is tied at 2-2-0 heading into Friday's action.

Charlotte is 2-1-1 in The American and 6-1-4 overall. Last time out, the 49ers completed a scoreless draw at home against FIU. Earlier this season, Charlotte earned a 2-2 tie at No. 7 Syracuse and a 1-0 winner at home over Campbell, who was receiving votes at the time.

The '9ers goalkeeper Leo Stritter enters the weekend as one of the top goalkeepers in all of Division I. He is second in the nation for shutouts (7) and third for goals against average (0.545). His efforts have pushed Charlotte to a team 0.545 goals against average, the highest in the country.

Camilo Vargas leads the Hurricane with three goals this season after his match-winner against the FAU Owls two weeks ago. Alex Lopez seeks his second win in goal this season. He is up to 27 saves this season and 149 for his career, which ties Rob Beres (1996-98) for fifth in Tulsa history.
