TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa women's tennis team will welcome a familiar foe in fellow American Athletic Conference member Tulane (3-1) on Friday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m. at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. It's the last home match for the 5-3 Golden Hurricane until March 3.

A heated contest can be expected between TU and Green Wave with last year's match in New Orleans clocking in at just under five hours and resulting in a 4-3 victory for Tulsa. The upcoming dual match will be the 13th time the teams face one another, with Tulsa winning the last eight meetings and leading the series 9-4.

Tulane begins their season with a 3-1 record, with their only loss coming on the road to LSU Monday in a 6-1 decision for the Tigers. The Green Wave meets its second road opponent in the Hurricane.

Cora Barber leads Tulane in singles play, holding a 13-5 record, followed by Lahari Yelamanchili at 11-4. In doubles play, Tulsa will likely face Yelamanchili again alongside Kristen Borland, who possesses a 6-7 record together.

Tulsa's Maria Berlanga Bandera matches Barber with a 13-5 record coming into tomorrow's action. Berlanga's spring season has so far yielded a 6-2 outcome in the No. 1 spot. Additionally, the 100-win mark is on the horizon for junior Lily Hutchings, who currently has 90 career wins (41 singles and 49 doubles).

Come Friday, Berlanga and Hutchings look to continue their five-match winning streak in doubles play. The duo premieres at the No. 1 spot with a 6-2 record.
