CARLSBAD, Calif. –– For the second consecutive year and the 29th time in school history the Tulsa women's golf team will be making a trip to the national championship. Tulsa is one of 30 teams, from 72 teams in six regional tournaments, advancing to the championship finals, May 17-22.
In its past, Tulsa has played in seven AIAW National Championships and will be appearing in its 22nd NCAA Championship event this year. Tulsa has won four national titles, including the 1980 and 1982 AIAW crowns and the 1982 and 1988 NCAA titles.
"We are excited to return to nationals for a second consecutive year," said Tulsa Head Coach Annie Young. "It's a great opportunity to play against the best in the nation. La Costa will be the ultimate test of golf. We look forward to the challenge."
The NCAA Finals consists of both stroke play and match-play components of the event. There will be four rounds of stroke play competition and after the first three rounds (May 17-19) the top 15 teams will move to the fourth day (May 20) of stroke play. The top eight teams from stroke play will advance to match-play competition (May 21-22).

The teams will play the par 72, 6,330-yard course at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. Tee times begin at 6:40 a.m. (PT)/8:40 a.m. (CT) the first three days and 10:30 a.m. (PT)/12:30 p.m. (CT) on day four.
