TULSA, Okla. — Championship season has arrived as The University of Tulsa track and field teams are in San Antonio, Texas to compete for team and individual titles in the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships from Friday, May 10, through Sunday, May 12. The Golden Hurricane will see 29 student-athletes—16 men and 13 women—compete in up to 24 events.

All three days of the event will stream on ESPN+. Fans unable to attend the action in person can subscribe to ESPN+ to watch select Golden Hurricane track, football, tennis, volleyball, soccer, softball and basketball games. ESPN+ is offered at $10.99/month or $109.99/year. To subscribe, go to plus.espn.com. Fans will be able to access ESPN+ content only after they have subscribed.

Much like the league's indoor championships in February, Tulsa's biggest groups will appear in the distance events. Friday morning's 10,000-meter races will showcase four women (Chloe Hershenow, Robyn Kowalski, Tamara Reeves, Sara Scott) and five men (Shuaib Aljabaly, Ben Black, James Knockton, Charlie Krasnoff, Luke Lambert), while Sunday evening's 5,000-meters feature sophomore Alicen Ashley, junior Robyn Kowalski and seniors Chloe Hershenow and Tamara Reeves on the women's side with the men's redshirt-senior Shuaib Aljabaly, senior Christian Baker, senior Ben Black, junior Jaden Forester, freshman James Knockton, redshirt-sophomore Luke Lambert, senior Shay McEvoy, redshirt-junior Chris McLeod and reigning indoor 5,000 and 10,000-meter conference champion Malte Propp.

TU will put forth 1,600-meter relay squads from both teams as well as a men's 400-meter relay.

Sophomores Sarah Hosey and Billie Rouse will assume their usual spots in the women's 800-meter run, an event that each runner has appeared in four times this outdoor season.

All short and middle-distance events from the 100-meter dash to the 1,500-meter run will have preliminary trial races Friday and Saturday. The top qualifiers from each race will compete in the finals on Sunday.

Senior Elizabeth Roca, who earned all-conference honors at the indoor AAC meet with a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash, will look to come away with the title this weekend. New 400-meter program record holder Evan Sanni-Thomas is poised to make the podium in the event in his junior season. Sprint veteran Josh Sutton will race in the 100-meter dash one of Tulsa's longest-tenured athletes, a senior in his fifth year on the roster.
