Tulsa to Host North Texas and UTSA for Homecoming Weekend
- It's Homecoming Week for the University of Tulsa as the Golden Hurricane continues American Conference action, facing North Texas and UTSA in the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
- TU faces the Mean Green first on Friday, October 24, at 5:30 p.m. and ends the weekend with a showdown against UTSA on Sunday, October 26, at 1 p.m.

- Join Tulsa volleyball for their annual Alumni Game against North Texas on Friday nght. The first 400 fans will receive a free Tulsa beanie while supplies last.
- Trick-or-treat early with the Tulsa volleyball team on Sunday. Kids in attendance will receive a free Tulsa candy bag and Halloween candy in the Reynolds Center.
Best Start Since 2010
- The 17-3 Golden Hurricane are off to their best start to a season after 20 matches since 2010, when TU started 18-2 and finished 31-3 and 20-0 in conference play with a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
- A 7-1 start to conference play is TU's best showing through eight matches since 2013 (8-0 start)
- Before the 5-set loss to Rice, TU's 11-match winning streak was tied for the 5th longest in the NCAA.
- Tulsa went 10-1 in the month of September, is 6-0 to start October, won 17 of their last 18 matches this season, and emerged victorious in 20 of their last 25 outings dating back to the end of last year.
Best RPI in Team History
- The first NCAA Volleyball RPI came out on October 6, and the Golden Hurricane were ranked 43rd out of 348 teams in the country - the best RPI TU has ever received in program history.
- Tulsa is currently #48 entering this weekend's action, the third-highest RPI in the American.
- In the American, South Florida is at #41 and Rice is right behind at #42. Rice edged Tulsa 3-2 in Houston last month and Tulsa's match at South Florida is set for October 31 in Tampa.
- The Golden Hurricane are 4-0 against RPI 51-100 teams, 4-2 against top 100 teams, 13-1 against 101+ teams, and 10-0 against sub-150 squads.
Ramatowski Reaches 50 Wins Against UAB
- Third-year Head Coach Lauren Ramatowski surpassed 50 career wins in her 79th match in the home sweep over UAB on Oct. 10.
- She is the sixth Tulsa head coach to accomplish that feat and the fifth-fastest to reach that mark.
- She's currently 53-29 (.646) entering this weekend's action.
How Mean are the Green?
- Friday will be the 29th match between the TU and UNT volleyball teams.
- Tulsa leads the series 18-10 and has won three of the last four matchups.
- North Texas won last season's meeting 3-1 in Denton, Texas.
- The Mean Green are 15-5 overall and 5-3 in the league for fifth place.
- North Texas boasts a strong defense, leading the American in opponent hitting percentage (.162) and total aces (125).
Rematching the UTSA Roadrunners
- This will be the 18th meeting between Tulsa and UTSA with the Roadrunners leading the series 12-5.
- Tulsa won the earlier matchup this season in San Antonio, 3-2, and have won two of the last three matches.
- UTSA is 11-8 overall and 4-4 in league action for eighth place.
- The Roadrunners lead the league in aces per set (1.25), while Caroline Tredwell is fourth in the conference for hitting percentage (.336).
National and Conference Stat Rankings
- After eight weeks of volleyball, here's where Tulsa stacks up on the individual and team level in the American and the national stat rankings.
- Senior setter Brayden Hipp is atop the league with 9.94 assists per set and owns the most total assists with 716. Her total assists mark is 21st in the country.
- Hipp's 60-assist performance in the victory at Memphis last week is tied for the 14th-most assists in a 5-set match nationwide.
- Her 44-assist showing at UAB last week is the 12th-most assists by a single player in a 3-set match in the country, while her 42 assists in the win over Little Rock is tied for the 23rd-most in a 3-set match.
- Hipp also has the most Conference Setter of the Week awards so far with four.
- True freshman middle Jill Hanson is second in the American with a .401 hitting percentage. She peaked with .889 (8-0-9) against Cleveland State and has hit over .500 eight times this season.
- In hitting percentage, Hanson is the #1 freshman in the conference, #2 freshman in the country and ranked 32nd overall in the nation.
- Hanson is currently No. 8 on the league's blocking list with 1.06 blocks per set.
- Junior libero Lauren Patterson is holding steady at third in the American for digs (287) and fifth for digs per set (3.99).
- As a team, Tulsa leads the American Conference in wins (17), assists per set (13.40), total assists (965), hitting percentage (.275), kills per set (14.35) and winning percentage (.850).
- TU is 7th in kills per set, 9th in the nation for assists per set, 19th in digs per set (16.65) and hitting percentage.
Tulsa Thriving on Balanced Attack
- Tulsa has six players currently averaging between 2-3 kills per set. Any one of them can lead the team in kills for any given match.
- Leading is senior outside Olivia Vance with 2.91 per set followed by senior outside Beth Bayless at 2.66.
- Senior outside Lauren Eitler is third at 2.63 per set with senior middle Kat Cooper managing 2.36 kills per set.
- Freshman middle Jill Hanson Freshman currently has 2.07 kills, while outside hitter Maegan Mills averages 2.05 kills per set.
- Much of this is due to brilliant passing by senior setter Brayden Hipp, who's been distributing the ball evenly through eight weeks of play.
Everyone's Digging It
- The defense has also been balanced for the Golden Hurricane.
- Four players average two or more digs per set, with junior libero Lauren Patterson ranking fifth in the conference with 3.99 digs per set.
- Sophomore setter Brittany Bacorn currently records 2.75 digs, while senior outside Lauren Eitler has 2.74 digs.
On the Roster
- TU returns three of seven starters and four of 12 letterwinners.
- Returning starters include senior hitters Beth Bayless and Lauren Eitler and senior setter Brayden Hipp.
- The fourth and final returning letterwinner is sophomore setter Brittany Bacorn.
- The Golden Hurricane welcomes four transfer players to the roster in 2025. The TU coaching staff hit the transfer portal this offseason and signed San Diego State senior middle Kat Cooper (Springdale, Ark.), James Madison outside junior Olivia Vance (Bixby, Okla.), Loyola Marymount senior libero Lauren Patterson (Portland, Ore.) and Iowa Western Community College junior libero Quinn Swofford (Branson, Mo.).
- The six true freshmen ready to don the Blue and Gold for the first time this year are setter Meg Goodwin (Tulsa, Okla.), middle blocker Jill Hanson (San Antonio, Texas), libero Milee Jackson (Tulsa, Okla.) and hitters Kylee McCoy (Royse City, Texas), Maegan Mills (Topeka, Kan.) and Ava Steffe (Frisco, Texas).
