TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa men's basketball team looks to capitalize on the momentum of a recent road win as the Golden Hurricane welcomes UTSA to the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Saturday afternoon.

Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. (CT) and will air on ESPNU with David Saltzman and Mark Adams on the call. Fans can also catch the contest on Big Country 99.5 FM and the Varsity Network app. Bruce Howard and JR Rollo will bring fans the action.

The game is part of a TU Basketball doubleheader as the women take on North Texas earlier at 2 p.m. on ESPN+. Heart Health Awareness is the theme of the day with the women's game taking an informational approach before the men's game features Heart Health Tips from the TV show The Office.

Tulsa (10-15, 4-8 The American) attempts to grab a season sweep against the Roadrunners (10-14, 4-8). The Hurricane overturned a 16-point second half deficit at UTSA on January 7 to hand the Roadrunners an 82-77 loss. It was Tulsa's first road and conference win of the season. Keaston Willis and Tyshawn Archie each scored 19 in the win, with all 19 of Willis' coming in the second half. Primo Spears scored 41 to lead the Roadrunners.

Saturday marks the 10th game in a series the Golden Hurricane leads 8-1 overall. TU is 7-0 in Tulsa against the Roadrunners and 5-0 in the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Tulsa is coming off a big road win at Temple where the Golden Hurricane picked up its second road win of the season, knocking off the Owls 80-74. Tulsa made 18-of-25 from the field in the second stanza, knocking down four 3-pointers, three from Willis, in a 46-point second half. Willis scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half to lead Tulsa in scoring and added a team-best seven boards. Dwon Odom picked up his fifth double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 assists, adding six rebounds and three steals. Odom iced the game with an elbow leaning jumper with 30 seconds to play.

Odom finished the game 6-of-9 (66.7 percent) from the field. It was his 15th time to shoot 50 percent or better this season, and TU has a 10-5 record in those games. The Hurricane is 9-2 in contests where Odom has shot 60 percent or better in 2024-25.

Since the loss at home to Tulsa, UTSA has gone 4-6 and sit a spot above the Golden Hurricane in the league standings. The Roadrunners have lost three straight by a combined seven points, with one-point losses at home to Tulane and East Carolina before a five-point road loss at Wichita State in their last game on Wednesday evening. The Roadrunners are under the direction of first year head coach Austin Claunch, who comes to UTSA after a season as an assistant coach at Alabama.

Spears, UTSA's leading scorer, ranks 16th nationally and third in the league in scoring, averaging 19.8 points per contest. His 3.8 assists leads the team as well. The guard leads three others who average double figures in scoring, including Marcus Millender (13.5), Raekwon Horton (12.5) and Damari Monsanto (10.8). Jonnivius Smith comes off the bench to lead UTSA in rebounding, pulling down 7.0 boards per game.

The Roadrunners live up to their name, sitting eighth nationally and second in the conference for fastbreak points, averaging 15.96 per game. Part of the reason for the success in transition is UTSA's ability to get steals and force turnovers. UTSA forces 15.3 turnovers per game, which ranks 20th nationally, and records 9.6 steals a game, which is 10th in the NCAA. The Roadrunners lead the conference in both categories.

When UTSA gets to the foul line, the Roadrunners are one of the top teams in the nation in converting, making 81.1 percent, which is the second-best team percentage in the NCAA.

Saturday's contest is the final home game in February for the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa will wrap up the month with a pair of road games at next week, starting Wednesday at North Texas before a Saturday contest at Rice.
