
Tulsa Places 10th at Chevron Collegiate

HUMBLE, Texas –– The Golden Hurricane women golfers slipped three places to finish 10th at the Chevron Collegiate at Golf Club of Houston on Tuesday. After shooting a 5-under-par 283 in each of the first two rounds, Tulsa carded 296 strokes, 8-over-par, in Tuesday's final round to finish two strokes under par with 862 strokes.
TCU shot 14-under and 15-under in their final two rounds on Monday and Tuesday to run away with the team title, amassing a -34, 830 score, nine strokes better than second-placed Texas A&M, who held a four-stroke lead heading into the final round. Clipped ranked No. 1 Arkansas (840), SMU (845) and Mississippi State (845) rounded out the top five.
Jenni Roller carded a 1-under 71 on Tuesday to finish 5-under for the tournament in a tie for 16th, pacing the Golden Hurricane. She consistently marked pars on her scorecard, meeting the mark on 15 of 18 holes. She opened with a birdie on seven, where she started, and remained consistent until a bogey on 16 brought her back to even for the day. The junior birdied again on one and pared out from there.
Allyn Stephens also opened the round with a birdie but finished +2 for the day and -1 for the Collegiate in a tie for 31st. Romaine Masserey tied for 41st after shooting 75 on Tuesday, recording a +1, 217 overall. Sydney Seigel shot a 76 and finished five strokes behind Masserey in a tie for 61st. Lovisa Gunnar ended in a tie for 68th at eight strokes over par. She shot a 76 on Tuesday as well.
Texas A&M's Vanessa Borovilos finished 15-under (201) to take home the individual title. She was two strokes ahead of Camille Min-Gaulthier out of TCU.
UP NEXT
Tulsa will return to the course in a couple of weeks for the Briar's Creek Invitational at the Golf Club at Briar's Creek in John's Island, South Carolina. The College of Charleston will host the two-day event that starts on Monday, March 11.
