2/27/2025 11:07:00 AM | Track and Field

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa men's and women's track and field student-athletes are set to compete in the American Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by the conference and UAB in the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala. The meet will span Friday, Feb. 28 and run through Saturday, March 1.

The Golden Hurricane will see 34 student-athletes compete in up to 23 events.

On the men's side, sophomore Andrew Lutkenhaus, owner of the AAC's second-best 800m mark this season (1:50.13), headlines a group of three Hurricane men in the 800m trials on Friday. The men's 3,000m will feature 11 Tulsa runners, including the league leader and redshirt senior Shay McEvoy, who turned in a 7:49.70 mark just two weeks ago. He's joined by redshirt freshmen Ben Brown and Luke Birdseye, who ranked third and fourth, respectively, among all AAC harriers.

On the women's team, the junior pair of Sarah Hosey and Billie Rouse will take on the 800m trials together on Friday. Hosey owns the conference's four-fastest 800m this season at 2:10.47.

Senior Robyn Kowalski will lead the long-distance contingents in the 3,000m and 5,000m. She'll be joined by five teammates in the 3,000m on Saturday and three teammates in the 5,000m on Friday.

Both men's and women's teams will have a 4x400m relay squad and a distance medley relay team. The men's DMR - broken down in legs of 1,200m, 400m, 800m and then 1,600m - will showcase redshirt junior Sean Korsmo, freshman Luke Finzen, freshman Brody Woodcock and McEvoy. Representing the women in the DMR will be sophomore Amy Morefield, junior Lianne Holtermann, sophomore Anastasia Small and freshman Matilda Laidlaw.

The action for TU begins at 1:05 p.m. Central on Friday and runs through 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Fans can track the live results at live.xpresstiming.com.
