Women’s Golf Maintains Lead After Day 2 of AAC Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. –– After the first 36 holes of the American Athletic Conference Women's Golf Champions, the Tulsa has extended its lead to 15 shots. Tulsa shot the best round on day two, going two-over-par 290. TU is 7-under-par 596 over the first two rounds.
The Golden Hurricane lead Charlotte by who is eight-over-par 584 at the Championship. East Carolina sits at 11-over-par 587 and in third place.
Lovisa Gunnar and Romaine Masserey continue to lead the way, as they are co-leaders after the second round. During the second round, they both shot one-under-par 71 and are five-under-par for the tournament. Masserey shot one-under on her front nine and even-par on the back nine during the second round.
Gunnar's came out and shot four-under-par on the front nine. She had Tulsa's first eagle of the tournament on hole seven. However, she had a small setback to open the back nine. Gunnar finished the round strong, carding three straight birdies to close the round for a one-under-par 71.
Jenni Roller is sitting in a tie for ninth place after the second round. Roller shot a two-over-par 74 in the second round. She carded two birdies on the round and is one-over-par following the second day of action.
Tied for 12th place is Sydney Seigel. Seigel shot a round of two-over-par 74 in the second round. She had two birdies on her round and is two over par for the Championship.
Rounding out the Golden Hurricane in the field was Allyn Stephens. She carded a three-over-par 75 in the second round. Like Seigel, Stephens had two birdies of her own. She is tied for 35th at eight-over-par after the second round.
The Golden Hurricane tee off for the final round of the American Athletic Conference Championship on Wednesday at 7:50 a.m. CT from hole one. Stephens will lead the TU players for the round as TU will play with East Carolina and Charlotte. Seigel (8 a.m. CT), Roller (8:10 a.m. CT), Gunnar (8:20 a.m. CT) and Masserey (8:30 a.m. CT) will follow for Tulsa. Video coverage of the third round will begin at 10:30 a.m. CT and be streamed on ESPN+.
