• This will mark the 11th all-time meeting between these two programs and the sixth meeting in Tulsa. Navy leads the all-time series 8-2.
• The last time these two teams met was during the 2022 season when Navy came away with a 53-21 victory in Annapolis.
• The last time these two teams met in Tulsa was during the 2021 season. The contest was tied at 10–10 entering the 4th before Navy pulled out a 20–17 win.
• The last win for Tulsa was during the 2020 season when TU came way with a 19-6 victory over the Midshipmen in Annapolis. Both of Tulsa's wins have been in Annapolis.
• Both TU wins have come on the road — Tulsa has never beaten Navy at home.

LAST TIME
• Tulsa hit the road for its first away game of the season at New Mexico State, falling 21–14 in a hard-fought loss.
• The Golden Hurricane outgained the Aggies 376–291, with 235 passing yards and 141 rushing yards.
• Despite the edge in total offense, TU dropped its third straight game vs. NMSU.

AMERICAN CONFERENCE OPENER
• Saturday marks the American Conference opener for Tulsa, which joined the league in 2014.
• TU holds a 4–7 record in American Conference openers.
• The Golden Hurricane's last conference-opening win came in 2023, a 48–26 victory over Temple at H.A. Chapman Stadium.
• This will be the second time Tulsa opens American Conference play vs. Navy; the first was Sept. 30, 2017, also at H.A. Chapman.
• Tulsa has opened its conference slate at home in four of the last five years, with the only exception being 2024 at North Texas.

RICHARDSON POWERS TULSA BACKFIELD
Dominic Richardson has established himself as Tulsa's lead back, averaging 20 carries and 117.5 yards per game through the first two weeks.
• At New Mexico State, Richardson logged 20 carries for 93 yards (4.7 avg.), including a 32-yard run.
• This was his second straight game with 20+ carries, a first in his career.
• In the season opener vs. ACU, Richardson erupted for 142 yards on 20 carries, highlighted by a career-long 57-yard touchdown run.
• His 142-yard effort was the 12th-highest rushing total in the nation this season and the second-best of his career, trailing only a 169-yard outing vs. Baylor (Dec. 12, 2020).
• Richardson became TU's first 100-yard rusher since Nov. 23, 2024 (Anthony Watkins, 101 vs. USF).
• The performance marked the fourth 100-yard rushing game of his career and his first since 2022 (vs. Arizona State while at Oklahoma State).
• His 7.1 yards per carry vs. ACU was the fourth-best single-game average of his career.

TU RUN DEFENSE SHINES IN LAS CRUSCES
• Tulsa's defense smothered the run in Las Cruces, allowing just 39 rushing yards on 26 attempts by New Mexico State (1.5 yards per carry).
• This marked the first time since Sept. 28, 2023 that TU held an opponent under 50 rushing yards (44 vs. Temple).
• Since 2012, Tulsa has held only seven opponents under 50 rushing yards in a single game. The 2012 defense is the only one in program history with multiple sub-50-yard games in a season.
• On the season, Tulsa is allowing 79.5 rushing yards per game, ranking third in the Amercian and 23rd nationally.
• The Golden Hurricane will be tested this weekend as Navy brings the nation's top rushing attack to H.A. Chapman Stadium.

BOOKER BREAKS OUT
Zion Booker posted a career-high nine receptions Saturday at New Mexico State. His previous best was eight in 2024.
• He became the first TU player since 2022 (Keylon Stokes & Malachai Jones) to record nine catches in a game.
• The last Golden Hurricane receiver with more than nine receptions was Stokes with 11 in the 2022 season opener at Wyoming.
•  Booker's nine grabs went for a team-high 57 yards.

BRINGING THE HEAT
• Tulsa's defense has tallied seven sacks through two games, ranking 11th nationally and first in the AAC (3.5 per game).
• TU opened the season with five sacks vs. Abilene Christian and added two more at New Mexico State (by J'Dan Burnett, Byron Turner Jr., and Nahki Johnson).
Byron Turner Jr. recorded three sacks in Week 1, the first TU player with three in a game since Ben Kopenski (Nov. 18, 2023) and just the second since 2008 to post three in a season opener (joining Zaven Collins).
• Burnett added two sacks vs. ACU, forming one of the league's top pass-rush tandems.
• TU's five-sack opener matched its single-game high from all of 2024 and was the most by any AAC team in Week 1.
• Turner Jr.'s 3.5 sacks already surpass the individual season-high for any TU defender in 2024.
• Turner Jr. (3.5 sacks) leads the AAC, with Burnett (3.0 sacks) second — Tulsa is one of only two AAC schools with two players in the top 10 (the other is Memphis).

HAYES DELIEVERS IN TU DEBUT
• Redshirt freshman QB Baylor Hayes made his Golden Hurricane debut Saturday at New Mexico State after transferring from ETSU, where he played for Head Coach Tre Lamb.
• Hayes entered in the second quarter and made an immediate impact, accounting for two career-first touchdowns.
• In the third quarter, he broke loose for a 24-yard rushing touchdown, the longest run of his career.
• Later, Hayes threw his first career touchdown pass, an 18-yard strike to Brody Foley.
• He finished the night 14-of-17 passing for 135 yards, one touchdown and one interception, while adding 22 rushing yards.

TOUCHDOWN FOLEY
• After three seasons at Indiana where he appeared in 20 games primarily on special teams, Brody Foley has made an immediate impact at Tulsa.
• Foley recorded his first career catch in the season opener vs. Abilene Christian — a 22-yard touchdown.
• In Week 2 at New Mexico State, he struck again, hauling in an 18-yard touchdown reception.
• Remarkably, both of his career receptions have gone for touchdowns, totaling 40 yards (20.0 yards per catch).

2025 CAPTAINS
•  Head Coach Tre Lamb announced the 2025 team captains on Sunday night ahead of the season opener.
• Captain selections include one head coach's pick and four team-voted leaders (two offense, two defense).
• The 2025 team captains are:
                • Kirk Francis – Quarterback
                • Sevion Morrison – Running Back
                • Chris Thompson Jr. – Linebacker
                • Ray Coney – Linebacker
                • Tai Newhouse – Defensive Line

RECRUIT LOCAL
• Coach Tre Lamb's message is simple: Recruit Local. And it shows — 23 Golden Hurricane players hail from the Tulsa area.
• Of those 23, 16 are from Tulsa, four from Owasso, and three from Bixby.
• Expanding across the state, Tulsa's roster features 31 players from Oklahoma. Key transfers returning home include JD Drew, Micah Tease, Sevion Morrison, and Dominic Richardson.
• Lamb has emphasized that keeping homegrown talent in Tulsa not only strengthens the roster but also deepens the program's connection with fans and alumni.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL FREAKS LIST
•  Bruce Feldman, a prominent national college football reporter, compiles an annual list for The Athletic highlighting the most physically impressive players in the country.
Braylin Presley earned a spot on the 2025 Freaks List, recognized as one of college football's most dynamic and explosive athletes.
• Presley made an impact last season as a returner, averaging 52 yards on three kickoff returns.
• The 5-6, 170-pound senior boasts elite measurables: 10.4 100 meters, 23 mph top speed, 1.44 10-yard split, 38-inch vertical, 4.18 shuttle, 585-pound squat, and a 315-pound power clean.
