Women’s Golf Opens Spring Slate in Mexico

TULSA, Okla.  –  The Tulsa Golden Hurricane women's golf team opens the spring slate this Friday and Saturday as they participate in the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara. The event is hosted by Virginia and will be held at the Guadalajara Country Club. The 54-hole tournament will feature 27 holes on Friday and Saturday.
 
The last tournament the Golden Hurricane took to the course during the fall was at the Route 66 Invitational honoring Dale McNamara and took home a third-place finish. This fall, the Golden Hurricane shot 285.6 as a team during the fall season.
 
Jenni Roller led the Golden Hurricane in scoring during the fall season as she shot an average of 71.0 per round. She had a career-best 67 on the first day of the Dale McNamara Invitational. Freshman Zoe Shamy followed shooting 71.8 during the fall. The 2025 American Conference individual champion, Romaine Masserey played in two tournaments in the fall and had a scoring average of 72.6.
 
This weekend's event marks the first competition of the Golden Hurricane during the spring season. The next Tulsa takes to the course will be Feb. 23-24 at the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate hosted by North Florida.

THE COURSE
Designed by John Bredemus in 1942, the lush parkland layout at the prestigious Guadalajara Country Club makes up part of an extensive private estate near the city centre. It was the home course of former Arizona All-American and LPGA standout Lorena Ochoa, whose family's home overlooked the club house. From 2008 to 2013 Guadalajara Country Club hosted the LPGA's Lorena Ochoa Invitational.
 
The course is par 72 at 6,210 yards.

THE FIELD
Tulsa is one of 12 teams competing at the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara. Joining the  Tulsa and host Virginia are, Florida State, UTSA, Houston, TCU, Chattanooga, NC State, Colorado, Washington, BYU and #19 Oklahoma State.
 
THE GOLDEN HURRICANE
Competing for Tulsa in the event are Romaine Masserey, Jenni Roller, Samantha Olson, Allyn Stephens and Zoe Shamy.

TEE TIMES
Play will begin on Friday with tee times starting at 8 a.m. Allyn Stephens will lead off the Golden Hurricane followed by Zoe Shamy at 8:09 a.m. Romaine Masserey (8:18 a.m.), Samantha Olson (8:27 a.m.) and Jenni Roller (8:36 a.m.) follow. The teams will re-pair after the first day based on results.
