Women’s Golf Sits Tied for Second After Day One at Collegiate Invitational Guadalajara

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – The Tulsa women's golf team opened the spring slate Friday with a six-over par 438 through the first 27 holes of the Collegiate Invitational Guadalajara, sitting in a three-way tie for second place.
 
No. 19 Oklahoma State leads the tournament by five shots after carding a one-over par 433 over the opening 27 holes. To view the complete leaderboard, click here.
 
Samantha Olson paced the Golden Hurricane on day one. Olson recorded her second round in the 60s this season, firing a three-under par 69 over the opening 18 holes. She followed with a two-over par 38 on the front nine and sits tied for seventh overall at one-under par.
 
Jenni Roller also cracked the top 10 after the first day of competition. Roller opened with a two-under par 70 and was two-under through her first nine holes. She finished the day at even par and is tied for ninth place.
 
Zoe Shamy is tied for 30th after posting a two-under par 70 in the opening round and closing the day at five-over par. Romaine Masserey is one stroke behind Shamy, tied for 35th at six-over par after shooting a three-over par 75 in the first round. Allyn Stephens rounds out the Tulsa lineup and is tied for 53rd at 10-over par after carding a seven-over par 79 in the opening round.
 
Tulsa returns to action tomorrow to conclude the final 27 holes of the Collegiate Invitational Guadalajara.
