Golden Hurricane Finish Weekend With School Record, Event Wins

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa track wrapped up a record-setting weekend Saturday in their final regular season indoor meets, adding a school record, podium finishes and another all-time mark to an already strong showing.
Tyson Invitational
The women's mile was led by Evyn Humphrey, who placed seventh in 4:44.72 to move to third in school history. Matilda Laidlaw (4:49.74), Sarah Hosey (4:50.01) and Sara Morefield (4:53.43) also competed in the university division.
On the men's side, Levi Rowan finished runner-up in 4:05.14 to cap an impressive weekend. Luke Birdseye (4:07.30) and Brady Korsmo (4:07.61) placed seventh and eighth, with a deep Tulsa group following close behind.
The men's 4x400-meter relay, made up of Evan Sanni-Thomas, Luke Finzen, Joseph Synder and Colin Madison, closed the meet with a 3:10.99 performance, breaking the school record by nearly two seconds.
Gorilla Classic
Andrew Lutkenhaus took second in the men's mile (4:05.50), while Walker St. John placed third (4:08.06).
Annie-May Cannings won the women's 400 meters in 54.91, and Billie Rouse added a second-place finish in the 800 (2:10.29). The women's 4x400 relay team of Alexis Cavin, Kamree Dye, Lianne Holtermann and Cannings finished fourth in 3:44.20.
Looking Back on Day One
Friday set the tone in a big way. Levi Rowan won the 3,000 meters at Tyson, while Sara Morefield ran the fourth-fastest women's 3,000 in school history. In the championship 3,000, Ben Brown, Luke Birdseye and Charlie Krasnoff all moved into the program's all-time top-11 list.
At the Gorilla Classic, Colin Madison won the 600 yards and moved to second all-time at Tulsa, helping spark a weekend filled with titles and record-book performances.
Tulsa track will next begin indoor postseason competition at the American Indoor Championship on Feb. 27 and 28 in Birmingham, Ala.
