Women’s Tennis Heads to Red Blue Invite

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa women's tennis will travel to Tucson, Ariz. to compete in the Red Blue Invite, hosted by Arizona, on Feb. 20 and 21.
The Golden Hurricane will face Iowa on Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. CT. Saturday's matches will include faceoffs with No. 11 Arizona State and Grand Canyon, with the GCU match beginning at 4 p.m. CT.
 
Scouting Iowa
  • The Hawkeyes are 4-4 on the season, with their last match being a 7-0 win over in-state rivals, Iowa State.
  • In that match, Iowa took the doubles point. The deciding match in singles came down to the No. 6 slot, where Hawkeye Nikita Vishwase clinched in a 7-6(7-5), 6-1 match.
  • The Golden Hurricane are 1-1 against Iowa. The most recent meeting was a 7-0 win for Tulsa in the 2012 season.
 
Scouting Arizona State
  • ASU is 5-2 in 2026 and are ranked at No. 11 nationally as of Feb. 19.
  • Most recently, they claimed a 4-3 win over No. 15 Pepperdine. Against the Waves, the Sun Devils battled back from a 3-1 deficit to take the match.
  • Tulsa is 0-2 against Arizona State. Notably, ASU has only lost two matches all-time to American Conference opponents.
 
Scouting GCU
  • Grand Canyon is 4-4 this season, falling 6-1 in their last match against No. 4 Auburn.
  • Prior to that match, GCU took a 4-0 win over Tulsa's fellow American Conference member, UAB.
