BOCA RATON, Fla. - After its lowest scoring first half of the season, Tulsa roared back with an early run in the second half and survived a late push from Florida Atlantic in a 78-76 win at Baldwin Arena on Wednesday. The Golden Hurricane was held to just 25 points on .303 percent shooting in the opening half but scored 53 in the second for the win.
Tulsa is now 20-3 overall and 8-2 in the American Conference and with Charlotte's loss to Wichita State, in sole possession of first place in the league with eight games remaining in the regular season.
David Green led the team with 27 points, converting 11-of-20 field goal attempts. Miles Barnstable contributed 15 points, all in the second half. He hit three 3-pointers and making 6-of-7 free throws. Ade Popoola added nine points, all from beyond the arc, and collected eight defensive rebounds. Tyler Behrend recorded 11 points, including a successful 3-pointer and two free throws, while also tallying four rebounds.
